Justin E. Cimring, M.D

Dr. Justin E. Cimring, M.D

Dr. Justin E. Cimring was born in New Jersey and grew up in Charlotte, NC and Chesapeake, VA. He graduated with distinction from the University of Virginia with a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Chemistry. After earning his MD from Eastern Virginia Medical School in 2019, he completed his pediatric residency at The Children’s Hospital of Alabama in Birmingham. He joined Coastal Children’s Clinic in August 2022. He lives in New Bern with his wife, Erin, and their dog and cat. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with family, traveling, golfing, and outdoor adventures.

Moreblessings (Mobby) Chakanyuka, M.D

Moreblessings (Mobby) Chakanyuka, M.D

Dr. Moreblessings (Mobby) Chakanyuka was born in Kadoma, Zimbabwe and emigrated to the U.S.A in 2004. She attended the University of Mary Washington in Fredericksburg, Va and received her BSc in Biology in 2010. She also holds a MSc in Biological Sciences from Drexel University School of Medicine in Philadelphia, Pa. She received her M.D. degree from St. George’s University School of Medicine in Grenada, West Indies. She then completed her Pediatric Residency in Greenville, NC at East Carolina University in 2022 and served her final year as a Pediatric Chief Resident at the same institution. She joined Coastal Children’s Clinic in September 2022. She enjoys dancing, traveling, spending time with family, friends and watching sports.

Dr. Gregory G. Gunsten, MD, FAAP

Dr. Gregory G. Gunsten, MD, FAAP

Dr. Gregory G. Gunsten was born in Hempstead, NY, and grew up in Commack, NY. In 1983, he received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Johns Hopkins University. He earned his MD degree from the Robert Woods Johnson Medical School in 1987 and completed his pediatric residency at the University of Maryland Medical Systems in 1990. Dr. Gunsten practiced for three years with Pediatric Associates in a small coastal town in New Jersey prior to joining Coastal Children’s Clinic in 1994. He, his wife, Ginger, and their daughter, Tory, enjoy living in New Bern. He also enjoys biking, beaching and swimming. Dr. Gunsten serves patients in our New Bern and Maysville offices.

Dr. Lee Ann Skladan, MD, FAAP

Dr. Lee Ann Skladan, MD, FAAP

Dr. Lee Ann Skladan was born in Knoxville, TN and grew up in Loudon, TN. She graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville in 1994 with a Bachelor of Arts degree from the Honors Program. After earning her MD from the University of Alabama School of Medicine in 1998, she remained in Birmingham where she completed her pediatric residency at the Children’s Hospital of Alabama in 2001. Dr. Skladan served as Chief Resident in her program from 2001-2002. In July of 2002, she joined Coastal Children’s Clinic. She lives in New Bern with her husband, Jason, and children, Abbie and Ryan.  The Skladan family may be found at various athletic events or the beach.  Dr. Skladan serves patients in our New Bern and Havelock offices.

C. Marston Crawford, MD, FAAP

Dr. C. Marston Crawford grew up in Washington, DC and Chicago. He graduated from Knox College in Galesburg, IL with a Bachelor of Science in Philosophy and went on to earn his MD from Rush Medical College in 1998. After an internship in Charleston, WV he completed a combined Medicine-Pediatrics residency at East Carolina University. In July 2003 he joined Coastal Children’s Clinic. Dr. Crawford with his wife, Allana Ross and daughter Audrey live in New Bern. Dr. Crawford is a very active member of the local Shrine Club. His other interests include kite flying, fly-fishing and Olympic fencing. Dr. Crawford serves patients in our Havelock and New Bern offices.

Lisa M. Kafer, MD, FAAP

Dr. Lisa M. Kafer was born and raised in New Bern. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from Wake Forest University in 1995 with a Bachelor of Arts in Studio Art. She remained in Winston-Salem where she earned her MD in 1999 from Wake Forest University School of Medicine. Dr. Kafer completed her residency at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia in 2002, where she served as Chief Resident from 2002-2003. In December 2003, she returned home and joined Coastal Children’s Clinic. Dr. Kafer lives in New Bern with her husband, Stan Ezzell, and their children, Will, Alison, and David.  Her hobbies include arts, crafts, boating and gardening.  Dr. Kafer serves patients in our New Bern and Havelock offices.

David T. Tayloe, lll, MD, FAAP

Dr. David T. Tayloe, III was born and raised in Goldsboro, North Carolina. He received his undergraduate degree in Biology from University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1996. Prior to starting medical school, Dr. Tayloe spent six years as a middle school and high school science teacher in Goldsboro, NC and Bolivia. After graduating from the University of North Carolina School of Medicine in 2007, he completed his pediatric residency at the University of Colorado, Denver, CO. He lives in New Bern with his wife, Betsy, and their children, Thomas, Emily and Anna . His interests include reading, traveling, hiking, boating and most outdoor sports.   Dr. Tayloe serves patients in our New Bern and Maysville offices.

Kelly R. Grove, DO, FAAP

Dr. Kelly Grove was born and raised in Voorhees, NJ. She attended the University of Delaware and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology in 2002. She obtained her D.O. degree from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2007. After an internship in Newark, DE, she completed her residency in pediatrics at Goryeb Children’s Hospital in Morristown, NJ.  Dr. Grove practiced for a year with Pediatric Associates in Newark, DE before joining Coastal Children’s Clinic in April 2013. She currently resides in New Bern with her husband Matthew, two daughters, Teagan and Tierney and one son, Landon. She enjoys the beach, traveling, athletic events, and time with her family.

Stanton W. Ezzell, CPNP

Stanton W. Ezzell was born and raised in Rocky Mount, NC. He graduated from Wake Forest University in 1995 with a Bachelor of Arts in Studio Art and Political Science. In 1999, he graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from UNC-Greensboro. He earned his Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Pennsylvania Pediatric Nurse Practitioner Program in 2001. He lives in New Bern with his wife, Dr. Lisa Kafer, and their children, Will, Alison, and David. He enjoys cooking and gardening. Stan enjoys serving patients in our Havelock and New Bern Offices.

Melissa Hollifield, MSN APRN FNP-C

Melissa was born and raised in North Wilkesboro, NC. As a member of the Honors College, she received her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from Western Carolina University in 2000. As a registered nurse, she worked in Critical Care in Asheville, NC. While working returned to school to receive a Maters of Science Degree with a concentration as a Family Nurse Practitioner from Clemson University in South Carolina. Since then she has worked in SC in pediatric primary care then relocated to UT. While in UT, she worked in various areas from pediatric education, to children’s surgical services at Primary Children’s Hospital in Salt Lake City. After moving back to NC, she joined Coastal Children’s Clinic in 2012. Melissa and her Husband David live in Swansboro with their children, Parker, Patrick and Piper. She enjoys attending her children’s sporting events, spending time with family, and traveling. She serves the patients in our Maysville office.

Christeanna Richardson, CPNP-PC

Christeanna Richardson was born and raised in Goldsboro, North Carolina.  She attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and later pursued her nursing degree at Wayne Community College.  As a Registered Nurse, she worked in the Pediatric ICU at Vidant Medical Center in Greenville, NC.  She then returned to the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and there, as a member of the Alpha Alpha Chapter of Sigma Theta Tau’s Honor Society of Nursing, she received her Masters of Science in Nursing through the Pediatric Nurse Practitioner Program.  She lives in Morehead City with her husband, Steve, and their children, Winslow and Mattie.  She enjoys spending time with her family, spending time outdoors, and reading.  She serves patients in our Havelock office.

Kyla Beasley, CPNP

Kyla Beasley was born and raised in Palm Bay, Florida. She graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Florida in 2013. She worked as a Registered Nurse on a mother-baby postpartum unit while completing graduate school. She obtained her Doctorate of Nursing Practice from the University of Florida Pediatric Nurse Practitioner program in 2016. Upon graduation, she served as an officer in the U.S. Air Force where she worked as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner in a primary care clinic. She joined the Coastal Children’s Clinic team in 2019. She currently resides in New Bern with her husband, Zach. She enjoys spending time outdoors, reading, and playing fetch with her dog, Sadie. Kyla serves patients in our New Bern and Havelock offices.

Dr. Chelsea Fowler was born and raised in Bristol, RI. She attended the University of Rhode Island graduating magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences in 2011. She received her D.O. degree from Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine in Bradenton, FL in 2016. She then completed Pediatric Residency in Greenville, NC at East Carolina University in 2019 followed by a year as Pediatric Chief Resident at the same institution. She joined Coastal Children’s Clinic in July 2020. She lives in New Bern with her husband Matthew and their three pets. She enjoys reading, traveling, yoga and spending time with family.
