Dr. Lisa M. Kafer was born and raised in New Bern. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from Wake Forest University in 1995 with a Bachelor of Arts in Studio Art. She remained in Winston-Salem where she earned her MD in 1999 from Wake Forest University School of Medicine. Dr. Kafer completed her residency at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia in 2002, where she served as Chief Resident from 2002-2003. In December 2003, she returned home and joined Coastal Children’s Clinic. Dr. Kafer lives in New Bern with her husband Stan Ezzell and their children, Will and Alison.  Her hobbies include arts, crafts, boating and gardening.  Dr. Kafer serves patients from Craven & Pamlico Counties including Vanceboro, Grantsboro, Ernul, Dover and Cove City in the New Bern Office.
